The 2-Handled Woolly Tug is one of our Ram Tuff tug toys and features a genuine sheepskin bite area that's sewn to 1/2" diameter multifilament polypropylene rope.
The rope has a broken-in feel and is soft and gentle on your hands. The double-handled design gives you more leverage and control, making it easier for you to tug with your dog.
The scent and feel of the fur is exciting to many dogs that need a very stimulating tug toy.
The 2-Handled Woolly Tug toy is 24" long from the end of one handle to the other, and the bite area is 10" long. The rope comes in assorted color combinations; please allow us to choose for you.
A bit about our testers for this toy -
Otto is a 2 year old Hungarian Vizsla who has just started to compete in agility. He takes to new toys quickly and usually prefers puzzle toys.
Alfie is a 3 year old (ish) rescue Staffi x Greyhound Lurcher. He usually needs a lot of encouragement to play with new toys and prefers fetch toys and generally anything fast moving!
About the Two Handled Woolly Tug toy: Both of my dogs wanted to play with the toy as soon as they saw it which is unusual for Alfie who is generally unsure of new things. Even though neither of my dogs usually like to play tug for long they both understood how to play with this toy straight away and wanted to carry on playing for as long as I would let them!
Otto also enjoyed playing "chase me" with the toy while Alfie found it easy to catch and good for terrier style ragging.
The toy is well made and strong and held up to having a 24kg lurcher with jaws that destroy most toys hanging off it although I wouldn't leave the dogs with it unsupervised as Alfie has a history of chewing through rope toys.
I particularly liked the sheepskin bite area because it allowed the dogs to keep a good grip on the toy without it cutting into their mouths. The only downside to the toy is that the rope handles left me with a blister but that was after a very long play session with two very enthusiastic dogs!
The clip is of Otto and Alfie's first play sessions with the toy. The background barking during Alfie's session is Otto wanting another turn!
